Farm to Fork
We are so pleased to offer farm-raised turkeys. Our turkeys are hand raised as poults, or baby turkeys, and fed a combination diet of spent grains from 1905 Brewing Company, along with a high-protein turkey feed.
The poults start their life in a hatchery before being express shipped to our local post office. Once at the farm, the poults live in a brooder box, which keeps them safe and warm during the spring months. As the turkeys grow, they graduate to the "turkey run," where they have more room to hop around, and literally spread their wings. Once they are too large for the turkey run, or in the case of the Bourbon Reds, flying out of the run, the poults have access to our entire 12 foot by 20 foot coop. By the time the turkeys are around 10 weeks old, it's time for them to "fly the coop," and graduate to our 130 foot by 50 foot turkey yard. The turkeys have access to their yard every day throughout their adult life.

How to choose your turkey
Heritage
Our heritage turkey breed are Bourbon Reds, named for their beautiful dark red plumage, and the county in Kentucky in which they originated. Compared to conventional breeds, heritage turkeys tend to be smaller, with a richer, gamier flavor. They are active foragers, and take longer to reach their desired size. Because of this, we usually receive our heritage poults 4 to 5 weeks before the conventional poults arrive.
conventional
Our conventional turkey breed is the Broad Breasted White. This breed is desirable for turkey production because of their large breast meat and fast weight gain. Our whites also like to forage alongside our bourbon reds in their turkey yard.
